Attention Current Hosting Customers,

We are writing to inform you of the following scheduled server maintenance. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact hosting_support@telserco.com, referencing the notice below:

Date: September 13, 2017 from 2:00 A.M — 3:00 A.M EST

Outage Expected: 10-15 minutes.

Reason: Security Changes

Additional Notes:
As continuation of our security hardening practices, we will be officially ending the ability to use plaintext authentication for email services. It is recommended you review the following changes to ensure your services will not be impacted.

A detailed breakdown of the changes is as follows:

Incoming e-mail
– Plaintext authentication for POP3 and IMAP will be disabled.  If you are connecting over mail.yourdomain.com, you are using plaintext.
– Connections to the servers on ports 110 and 143 will no longer be allowed.

Outgoing e-mail
– E-mail clients will be required to connect with SSL or issue the STARTTLS command before being allowed to authenticate.

As a result, please review your mail clients for the following settings, adjusting as required:

Incoming Server: chi-rs32.websitehostserver.net
Outgoing Server: chi-rs32.websitehostserver.net
POP3 Port: 995
SMTP Port: 587
IMAP Port: 993

NOTE: Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

YOU CAN MAKE THESE CHANGES AT ANY TIME.
