What are Broadcast Retransmission Fees?
Fees corporate broadcast stations (e.g. ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox) charge Cable Systems to retransmit or show their local content. Although these fees are listed on your TSC bill, 100% of the money collected goes directly to the broadcasting companies.
Why are retransmission fees increasing?
The increase, which is anywhere from 11% -20% depending on the county where you reside, is an upward revision from last year’s projections. The reasons for the change are consolidation in the industry and a continued rise in renewal rates “with increased bargaining power on legacy and streaming platforms for major network TV stations,” according to Broadcast Investor.

- Van Wert County Customers will incur an increase of $2.26/month
- Allen County Customers will incur an increase of $3.27/month
